Wet in Venice

We arrived in Venice on schedule and immediately found the water taxi (more like the water citybus) that took us to within a few twisting and turning narrow allies the lead to our hotel. We settled in and figured out how to get food. We took another walking tour and it rained the whole time, and was unseasonably chilly. It was a fun time, however, and we got to see some very interesting sights. Venice is very crowded with tourists and it has the feeling of a huge Disneyland with all the shops selling pretty much the same things to us, the ignorant tourists.

Today we found a laundramat and now I have clean clothes for the rest of the five days of our travels. Computer access is not the best, here (I think I must be spoiled).

We have eaten some good pizza and have learned to order our water without gas (who woulda thunk).

So far we have stuck around where "Vlad the Impailer" ruled (Romania), we conquered in "Heroes Square" (Budapest), we listened where Mozart played, explored where Marco Polo ran around as a kid, and tomorrow we are off to Athens to seek Socrates!

Hi Steve, Audrey and Walker, I am so envious of you being in Venice. I loved the time I spent there. It is so quaint and unique. It can be very chilly and damp in Italy. Glad you got to wash your clothes. Europe is nice to visit and I found living in Italy and Germany gave me a greater appreciation for the conveniences I had in the US. Continue to enjoy your vacation. All is well here however the kids miss their mom and dad. RA
