Grandfather Mountain is a favorite place for us to visit in North Carolina. The mile-high swinging bridge, animal habitat, beautiful picnic area, and amazing panaramic view are highlights that make the trip worthwhile.

North Carolina Vacation 2009, Wednesday: Beech Mountain ravine
We hiked a short trail through a local ravine located there on Beech Mountain. We recalled that five years ago Walker and Doug and I had all climbed up the waterfall shown above. Courtney and I decided that we did not have to prove ourselves in such a foolish endeavor. There are great advantages to hiking with Courtney rather than Walker! :-)
