Exploring Romania

Last night we rode a train to Bacau where we have been meeting some of Walker's friends today. The train ride was great fun...a sleeper car, of sorts, that the three of us shared with a German lady. We opened the window slightly and there was a cool breeze for the five hour ride which made it quite comfortable. We will be taking a train back to Bucharest tonight, and then on to Deva through the night and arriving on Sunday morning. No sleeper car available, they say, so we will see if I still like trains after tomorrow.
Audrey says to say we are having a wonderful time, and that we miss Diet Coke. One can find "Coca-Cola Light" here, but it is harder to find and never as cold as in the US.
I have been pressured for donations by some street gypsies, here -- kinda sad to see. We got to watch a city basketball tournament and a youth conference that is being presented as part of the three day long "Youth Days" in Romania. They go from June 1st - 3rd.
We will continue to try to stay in touch, but computers are kinda rare and connections are slow and tenuous. I am unable to read comments posted by others due to slow computer speeds.
Courtney and Belle, behave for Grandma. RuthAnn, try to not speed too much in my new truck! Love to all!! Steve for Audrey and Walker in Romania
