Do we (can we, should we, is it even possible to) forgive those who really really hurt us? Not just in theory, but in reality. Can we really forgive someone who deliberately causes us harm, pain, injury? Is it possible to forgive the creeps involved in the 911 terrorist attacks? Or is forgiveness more of a "Christian-nation" ideal that is transcended by the natural desire/need for revenge when the offense is very serious? The question is a real one, and is more fully fleshed out in an article that asks the question "In the post-9/11 world, is revenge becoming as spiritually accepted as forgiveness once was?"
