It is a little white thing, about the size of a sesame seed, and as hard as a rock. It is not smooth, but seems to have been formed by adding one irregular layer upon another, leaving some strangely rough edges like you might see in some geological formation. The really weird thing is that that hard little white thing came out of my lower eyelid, where it had been growing steadily and annoyingly for several weeks. When it finally became too much of an irritation to handle comfortably, I returned to my efforts to remove it manually and found that it just kinda dislodged and rolled right out. What a weird relief that was to "cast out the beam out of mine own eye," so to speak.
