December 8th is our wedding anniversary, and we have been married twenty five years. I was looking at some old pictures and noticed that nothing has really changed much in 25 years. Oh, sure, cameras are better now than before. (Apparently the old photography process that utilized film somehow distorted the shape of images by stretching them along a vertical line, thereby making objects in those images to appear more "skinny.")
But weirdly, I think these pictures show that Audrey has actually lost weight over 25 years and I have gained all that she lost several times over. How weird is that?
We have so many happy memories of our lives together. Many memories are captured in photos and stored away in boxes. It was fun to find these old pictures and add them to our modern media. There are too many old pictures to put them all on here just now. And there are so many special memories that just would not be appropriate to share on a blog -- it would be like throwing pearls before swine (not you, of course).
We jumped feet-first into marriage, with much more conviction and passion than preparation or planning. Had we known (had she known) how hard it can be to be married, perhaps we wouldn't have done it. But I'm so grateful that we did and never regret that choice or the life that followed. In fact, of all the decisions that I have made in my life, I am certain that marrying Audrey has been the wisest and healthiest for me. I want to just say publicly how much I love her and appreciate the relationship that we've been able to hammer-out between us.
We are away, this weekend, to celebrate our quarter-of-a-century together. Don't ask where, cuz we won't tell you that we're going to one of our favorite getaway spots, Sanibel Island.

We can definitely endorse the great good fortune that came to you when Audrey agreed to be your wife! Congratulations on the First Twenty Five Years and may the next twenty five be even better! Enjoy your celebration trip to that mysterious hide away you like so much. Enjoyed seeing the picture of your old truck.
love, dad and mom
Congrats you guys!! I remember when you got married, I was like 8!!! How weird is that? You were like my older brother watching me grow up. You guys did jump in pretty quick, but i think you made a wise decision marrying a fabulous sister and woman. You guys are lucky to have each other. I look up to you and admire you guys and how happy you are together!! I hope i can celebrate a quarter of a century together with ned one day too!
