We have a last meal before Walker leaves for school.
Packed-up pickup. All of Walker's things fit comfortably into the back-seat area and in the in-bed-trunk. We put three large suitcases in the bed, tied down by a cargo net and bungee cords. The truck was very easy to drive on this 2800 mile round-trip. We mostly held our speed down to 70mph and acheived around 20mpg (21.832 was the highest).
In Florida you sweat from just loading a car at 10pm.

Yale's JE residential college welcomed its returning students. (A word of explanation: JE earned a motto of "JE sucks!" in an intra-collegiate competition gone awry. Since that time they have striven to elevate the slogan to something more inspiring through a re-interpretation of what it means to "suck." They now proudly proclaim that they nurture themselves through the intake of the best light and knowledge available to mankind. Their motto "Sux Et Veritas" is a parody of Yale Divinity school's "Lux Et Veritas")
Walker is in room 417 - duh! He and everyone in the JE residential college is in temporary housing (called "swing-space") this year while their regular building is under refurbishment. 
His sweet suite has a common room...

a small kitchenette area and dining table...
and a private bedroom that is furnished (and includes a girlfriend to help move in).
We shopped for essential supplies, like toilet paper.

I stopped in DC at RuthAnn's (mother-in-law) on my way home.
Lyndsey, Doug, and Addy also live in the DC area near RuthAnn.
RuthAnn took me on a metro ride to the Capitol Mall.

The Lincoln Monument is ever-memorable, dedicated to a man who defended true principles at a time when the nation needed a leader to guide it through its most difficult conflict.
